It is time to make application for your 1961 Agricultural Conservation Practices. The following practices will be used in 1961 :
A-l. Orchard Cover. Initial establishment of a permanent vegetati\- cover in apple orchards and vineyaids for control of erosion.
AO Permanent Vegetative Cover. Initial establishment of a permanent vegetative cover for soil protection or as a needed land-use adjustment.
A-d. Additional Rotation Cover. Kstablishment of additional acreage of vegetative cov er in crop rotation to retard erosion and to improve soil structure, permeability, or water-holding capacity.
A-4. Liming Farmland. !m:ial treatment of farmland to permit the use of grasses and legumes for soil improvement and protection.
A t. Contour Stripping. Initial establishment of contour stripcropping to protect soil from erosion.
A-l. Forest Establishment. Initial establishment of •' stand of other than the prevention of wind or water erosion.
A-8. Controlling Erosion With Trees and Shrubs. Initial establishment of a stand of trees and shrubs on farmland to prevent wind or water erosion.
B-l. Improving Permanent Cover. Improvement of an established vegetative cover for soil or watershed protection.
B-d. Controlling Pasture Shrubs with Chemicals. Controlling competitive shrubs to permit growtth of adequate desirable vegetative cove for oil protection on pastureland.
