Last evening my door bell rang. When I opened the door I was greeted by a pleasant voice saying that he was “begging for the rescue squad.” Of course I invited rim in. I gave hiim a check and thanked him for the important and very valuable service he and his colleagues art rendering to us in Rappahannock County.
But why should we expect, or even permit, these young men to go from door to door begging us to protect ourselves? It would seem to make more sense if we went to their homes and asked them to accept our mone^ xto cover the necessary cost of equipment. They are doing their share when, they give their time, night and day, when any one of us may be in trouble and need their help. We should do our part by generously supporting hem.
Yours truly,
S. E. Hening
