It was stated that the Annie Armstrong Offering goal for 1961 is $2,470,000.
Members of the Society were asked to read carefully an article written by Mrs. R. L. Mathis, President of the Womans Missionary Union, SBC. The article, “Prayer is A Power,” is built around the scripture, “The prayer of a righteous man has great power in its effects”—James 5:16.
In concluding, Mrs. Mathis asks the question, “Will it be a full Week of Prayer in your church? Will you be a vital part of it? Will it be the same fervent prayer? Will it? If you can answer YES_...then the outcome will be “answered prayer.” Your church will be awakened—the offering will go beyond the goal— and Christianity will have a new day in America.” $2,470,000 is a lot of money,
