George Powers, son of Mr. and Mrs. John Powers of Flint Hill, is shown above with his threeyear-old ewe and hr lambs which Mr. A. H. Keyser awarded “to a 4-H member who is interested in sheep, who has done good club work and deserves some encouragement.” i
George has been a 4-H member since 1957. Since then he has had projects in poultry, sow and litter, soils I, electric I, and sheep.
George started with five ewes three years ago with a flock of five which were to be replaced in kind -in two years. Contrary to the experience of most club members in this project he has had tough breaks ever since. During the first year one of his ewes died from what appeared , to be poisoning.
