The Washington Elementary School had a most impressive commencement exercise Monday night, June 5 at 7:30 pirn.

The Rev. Warren Wilbur led the devotions and Mr. James W. Eavey, Director of Instruction for Warren and Rappahannock Counties. was the speaker. Mr. Q. D. Gasque, Superintendent of Schools, presented the certificates, assisted by •principal, Mr. Martin Cline.

years hence included such things as a skyscraper in Washington, Va„ Dunnie Eastham with the Kentucky Derby winner and Sam Snead as a judge.

The evening was enjoyed by all and was well attended by families and friends.

Graduates were Betty Clark, Robert Cooke, Mildred Dodson, William “Dunnie” Eastham. Miltoil Gore, Margaret Grigsby, Larry Hackley, Alary Ann Jeffries, Earl Jenkins, Jimmie Jenkins, John Jenkins, Edward “Ned” -Jones, James Latham, Page Moffett, John Myrick, Brenda Nalls, Barbara Pullen, James Settle, Martha Shillingburg, Samuel . Snead, Roger Stover and Mary Ann Tharp.
