4-H Boys Discus^

Project

Feeding of brood sows was the topic of discussion last week with 4-IH1 boys conducting this project We were pleased that several of the Dads and older brothers also attended. ' The discussions were prompted because of improper and costly feeding as revealed by the project record books turned in. Feeds being bought proved too costly and were unbalanced as a ration. By balancing die ration, selective buying, and feeding proper amounts at the proper time, it was shown feed costs at present prices could be reduced an average of $39.00 per soW per year with more rewarding performance results. -

If these sows represent an average, and with approximately 800 sows in the county, the above saving amounts to $31,200 were all sows fed properly.
