In July or August prune it into shape by cutting back overlong branches. You can root the cut pieces to start new plants. Early in the fall before the weather turns cold, bring the plant into a south window where it will get sun, water, and feed regularly.
The kalanchoe has bright scarlet red clusters of flowers and is ideally suited for holiday decoration. Its compact shape is useful in group plantings, in table centerpieces, indoor window boxes and 'small containers. The plant blooms longer than any gift plant available.
