Game Commission To

Decide Hunting Laws

The Virginia Game Commission will make its final decision on fall hunting seasons at a meeting to be held in Richmond April 26. The proposed regulations formulated at their March 30 meeting have been advertised throughout the state and final action will be taken on these during the meeting scheduled to begin at 9 a.m. in the Commission conference room.

The most significant of the proposed changes include some type of either sex deer shooting statewide, the opening of small game season one week prior to the deer season west of the Blue Ridge, and a modification of the snow law which would permit the hunting of all game except quail in the snow.
