share the risk of loss, Will have as their allocation base one-half of the turkeys so marketed, and the contract-producers, regardless of number, will share the remaining half.
Eligible to vote in the referendum will be producers, including contract-producers, whose annual volume of production is large enough to be affected by the order, and who engaged in the production of turkeys during the year 1961. Qualified cooperative associations are eligible to vote for their members.
Turkey growers ineligible to vote are those who produced and marketed less than 3,600 pounds of turkey (liveweight) in 1961, or producers-handlers who produced and handled not more than 100, 000 pounds of turkeys (liveweight) in own handling facilities and who bought or sold not more than 5,000 pounds from or to other persons.
The referendum will be conducted in all states except Alaska and Hawaii to which the proposed order does not apply, by State and County Agricultural Stabilization and • Conservation (ASC) committees.
Agricultural Stabilization and Conservation Service county offices in the county in which the producers’ principal place of turkey production is located will be the polling places for individual producers, including corporations, partnerships, or any other business unit.
