"HE HAS RISEN, HE IS NOT HERE”

The most important event of all history is the resurrection of our Lord Jesus Christ. That there was such a person as Christ, we have not the slightest doubt. No more doubt than we have that George Washington existed. History proves that very clearly for us. The Bible, which is <true history, as well as the early historians, tell us about Christ. We know that He was the only one Who ever claimed divinity. Mohammed Confucious, and many others were good men, but they never made an attempt to claim divinity. Christ lived as only a divine person would. He wrought many miracles by His own power. He cured lepers, made the blind see and the deaf hear, restored life to the dead, drove out devils from the possessed. His many miracles are not fiction nor figments of the imagination. They are proven historical facts, not theories. We know that Christ’s was a spotless life, without the slightest taint of anything that could even resemble sin. Every prophecy of His was fulfilled to the minutest detail. He prophesied his own passion, death and ressurrection. No fraud would have attempted that. Nor could it have been by mere chance that the prophecies were fulfilled.

As He foretold, He died an ignominious death on the Cross. He was truly dead, And on that first Easter morn, He was’truly alive. There was no chance for fraud or trickery1. Whoever denies His death will have to explain the darkness over the earth, the tremors of the ground, rending of the rocks and appearance of the dead. Facts, not theories. The simple facts are plain. These are the things that “He has risen, He is not here,” mean to so many grateful hearts, to hearts full of hope of everlasting happiness. But these are things that so many receptive ears have yet to hear.
