Heifer calves dropped before Christmas (November and early December) are now approaching sexual maturity'. While local cowmen did a much better job in 1961 in preventing the bred heifer prob-1 lem, already we have received four bred heifer claims. Check calving dates on your cows and don t forget 5-6 month old heifers do get bred.

One of the highlights of the session at the Sperryville Elementary School was an Art and Hobby Show given by the Seventh Grade on April 10th in the school auditorium.
Skippy Giles won the blue ribbon with his model car display. He had over sixty models which he had assembled 1 Joan Lee, Bonnie North and Pat Foster were awarded second on a money' exhibit. C. E. Dodson and Ray Alther placed third with a display of marbles and dinosaurs.
