April is the best month for gasing groundhogs. Dens are easier to find because there is no foliage or tall weeds. Then too, ground hog* have cleaned house so it is simpler to tell which dens are in use. .
If you find small balls of earth just outside of a den entrance, you can be sure the den is being used by a ground hog and not some other form of harmless wildlife.
Gas cartridges are considered to be most effective weapons and they should be used exactly as directed by the label.

Cattle Feeders: The Board of Directors of the Tidewater Beef Cattle Association have decided to change the date of the final slaughter* cattle sale at Fredericjcsburg from Thursday, April 26th to Thursday, May 3rd. Entry cards are available at my office.
Prices have been very good this winter at these sales.
