Local Fire Aax. Meets
The Auxiliary to Washington Vol. Fire Co. had its regular January meeting at the Rappahannock National Bank on Monday night with Mrs. C. T. Bruce, vice-president, presiding.
Yearly reports were given and receipts for the past year were not up to the usualfigure. It was felt that this was due to the lack of cooperation on donations to the Rummage Sale.
It was decided to give a check to the Rescue Squad and the Fire Co.
The organization is putting on a drive for membership and' anyone desiring to join should contact Mrs. Bruce at the Bank. Members .so far this year are Mrs. Bruce, Mrs. Marietta Cheatham, Mrs. W. B. Jenkins, Mrs. B. R. Cox, Mrs. Wade H. Massie, Jr., Mrs. G. H. Davis, Jr., and Mrs. W. C. Campbell.
It was decided to continue having the Rummage Sales in the spring and fall as the main fund raising activities.
The new officers of the Fire Company are having a meeting at the Court House on Monday, January 14 to plan activities for the new year and the Ladies Auxiliary and other interested people are urged to attend and lend their support.
