Herbert H. Atkins
Herbert Henry Atkins of Sperryville died Thursday, Jan. 3, 1963 at his residence, following a short illness. Son of the late Kelly Atkins and Eliza Atkins, his wife, and a native of Sperryville, he was 79 years old.
He is survived by two sons, Cecil and Charlie Atkins, both of Sperryville; three daughters, Mrs. Roy B. Leake and Miss Lucille Atkins, both, of Sperryville, and Mrs. Nelson Atkins of Flint Hill; nine grandchildren and two greatgrandchildren, and one brother, Ashby Atkins of Sperryville.
Graveside funeral services were held Saturday, Jan. 5 in Sperryville Cemetery. His pastor, the Rev. J. B. Grimmer, conducted the last rites. Pallbearers were Jonas Jenkins, Burnam Atkins, Alvin Atkins, Elmer Atkins, Thomas Baldwin and Robert Pullen. Arrangements were handled by Geest Funeral Parlors.
