Joseph P. Brown, seaman apprentice, USN, son of Mr. and Mrs. William J.Brown of Sperryville, is serving aboard: the command ship USS Wright which-was commissioned May' 11 at the Puget Sound Naval Shipyard, Bremerton, Wash. The Wright is equipped with world - wide communication capabilities and is a new naval concept and the Navy’s newest ‘addition to the fleet* She operates out of Puget Sound as a Pacific Fleet unit. Army Pvt. Curtis V.Fraz. ier, whose parents, Mr. and Mrs. Jack E. Printz, live i n Amissville, completed, with honors, a light-vehicle . driver course at Fort Leonard Wood, Mo, in midMay.
Frazier entered the Army in December 1962 and completed basic training at Fort Gordan, Ga. The 17-ry e a r-old soldier attended Culpeper High School. ■
Miss Sandra Staapreturned home Wednesday after completing her sophomore year at Randolph-Macon Women’s College, Lynchburg. Rev. and Mrs. John Hodge and family accompanied Mr. and Mrs. G. E. Doyle to Washington, D. C. Saturday on a sightseeing tour. Capt. and Mrs. L. B. Stuart were in Norfolk from Friday until Sunday and were guests of Dr. ‘ and Mrs. J. W. Hutson. Guests for the day Sunday of Mrs. C. J. Moss were Mr. and Mrs. Clyde Harrington of Alexandria. Mr. and Mrs. Nelson Burner and daughter, Faye, returned to their home Wednesday after spending several weeks visiting in southern Virginia, Maryland and North Carolina. Mr. and Mrs. Charles Henry Hackley“left Tuesday for Fort Lauton, Okla., after visiting relatives here.
Monday Mrs. Nelson Burner, Mrs. Johnny Hackley, Mrs. Charlie Hackley and Mrs. Florine Smith spent the day in Winchester.
