-Mr. and Mrs. William M. Carrigan of Washington. D. C. spent a long week-end at Avon Hall and had as houseguests Mr. and Mrs. Willlahn Morrison, also of Washington, D. C. Mr, and Mrs. James Mas-? sie were Sunday dinnerguests of Mr. and Mrs. J.. N. Miller. , - f Mr. and Mrs. Harry Lee' Smith attended, the May Da^r and Commencement exercises at Virginia Intermont at Bristol Thursday through Sunday. Their daughter Virginia Lee reigned as May Queen and was graduated from the two year's girls' school. Mr. and Mrs. Charles Edward Long of Dallas. Texas., and son Charles Long arrived Saturday at the home of Mr. Long's aunt, Mrs. John Keyser for a week's stay. Charles Long was 9 student the past year at Washington and Lee University. Miss Helen Fuller and Mrs. Veronia Keating of Washington, D. C. spent the weekend at Miss Fuller’s home on Long Mountain. Mrs. L. J. Turner attended Commencement ceremonies at Lynchburg College Monday at which time her daughter Miss Carolyn Gates Turner received a B. A. degree in Physical Education. Mrs. J. W. Critzer had the misfortune to fall in her home on Saturday and sustained a broken leg. She was taken to the Culpeper Memorial Hospital where a pin was inserted and a cast applied. She is expected to return home one day this week. Mr. and Mrs. C. J. Miller returned home Friday after a week’s visit with their sonin-law and daughter Mr. and Mrs. John Wood and family in Atlanta, Georgia. Judge and Mrs. T. C, Lea, jr. and Mr. and Mrs. Wade H.
