Woodville Youth Have Hayride
The R. A.’s of the Woodville Baptist Church were hosts at a hayride'ont Sunday evening, June 9th when 24 young people and chaperones enjoyed a ride through Eldon Farms followed by a “doggie roast* at the Hazel River. On Dean’s List
Barney Pauze*, a 1962 graduate of Rappahannock County High School, has been named to the dean’s list at Hampden-Sydney College for the second semester of the 1962-63 school year. In addition to making the dean’s list, Barney Was one of five freshmen out of a class of 145 who made the first honor roll. To qualify for this, it was necessary to carry a full work load and have no grade below 85 and an average of 90 or above.
He plans to take a double major in History and Latin with a concentration in Political Science. Hampden-Sydney is a small liberal arts college located seven miles south of Farmville. It now has an enrollment of 500 and currently ranks tenth in the nation according to the number of graduates listed in “Who’s Who In America.* Also it is first in the country in the number of graduates who receive their doctorates in Physics, and by the same standards, fourth in Chemistry.
