Mrs. Jones selected for her daughter’s wedding a gown of bone lace over green taffeta. She wore a green cymbidium orchid. For her son’s wedding,Mrs. Absher wore a green silk dress and a white cymbidium orchid. A reception was held following the ceremony in the parish hall. The reception was arranged by the county Home Demonstration Clubs as a gift to Miss Jones. Miss Harriet Goode of Chester, Virginia presided at the wedding cake.Serving punch were Mrs. Reed Burgess, Charlottesville and Miss Aney Melton, Sperryville. Miss Carolyn Brock, Washington was in charge of the brides book. For her traveling costume, the bride chose a two-piece dress of yellow silk shantung with navy accessories and a white hat. After a trip to Pennsylvania, Mr. and Mrs. Absher will make their home in Harrisonburg, where Mr. Absher is assistant county agent for Rockingham. The first of September they will leave for Oklahoma where Mr. Absher will do graduate work.
