residents is the 1914 La France Brockway Torpedo Fire Truck which is being readied for the parade by Charlie Jenkins with assistance from L. V. Merrill. New valves have been hand tooled to fit and other parts have been gotten all over the country. Mrs. John A. Keyser has donated a full set of 1914 Reo tires which she found in a building on her farm but it is not known whether or not they can be used. It will be a great day for the children of the Town of Washington when “Old Brock" is back in commission.
The Ladies Auxiliary is preparing a plate supper to be served at the Carnival immediately following the Parade and the crowd will be entertained with concerts by the “Knights of Erin" and the Virginia Lancers, both Drum and Bugle Corps. On Saturday night the 1963 Chevrolet car will be awarded at midnight. There will be door prizes every night.
