longer period is provided when the registrant is outside the country. An appeal may he taken by the registrant, his dependent, his employer under certain conditions. It is taken by written notice to the local board but no particular form is required. The Government Appeal Agent, who is a volunteer member of the local board team, also may appeal; as may the State Director, the National Director of Selective Service. In other words, the registrant has the right to point out to the local board why he thinks his classification is wrong; and if he does not convince them, have his file mailed to the appeal board. If the appeal boards decision is unanimous, no further appeal right exist except for the right of the State Director or the National Director to appeal the Presidential Appeal Board. If the appeal board’s decision is by a split vote, the case may be appealed to the Presidential Appeal Board by all others entitled to take the first appeal.
