We’re glad to see our next door neighbor Charles Jenkins up and around on crutches since his long rest in a cast from chest to toe. Charles didn’t miss a thing while he was flat of his back at home, for he is a very enterprising fellow. The head of his bed was next to the street, so with a hand mirror focused above his head, he saw all who came and went and never once did I pass by without hearing a cheery “hello Sarah”.
The most extinct item in Rappahannock this sumer is mud pies. Just think what the youngsters have missed with the drought. Tuesday morning'6 rain looked at first to be a good settled one, but lasted only a short while. A couple hours later there was not a mud puddle to be found. Guess the ground is just like a sponge.
