This is necessary so that timely adjustment in monthly payments may be made and overpayments avoided. Persons receiving pension, under the old law may waive part of their Civil Service annuities to meet the pension income requirements. Persons being paid pensions under the new law may not waive any part of the Civil Service annuities for VA purposes.
