The marriage of Dorothy Ann Payne tp Randolph Davis Clater took place Sunday, August 11 at three o’clock ,;ln the Washington Baptist Church. The Rev. Clyde F. Melton performed the double ring ceremony. Miss Payne is a daughter of Mr. and Mrs. Luther Payne, Washington and Mr. Clater is a son of Mr8. James Clater and the late Mr. Clater of Sperryville.
The church was decorated with mixed garden flowers, ferns, and candles which were lighted by William Payne,' Jr., nephew of the bride. Mrs. Paul Nichols of Flint Hill was organist, rendering a program of nuptial music, and the traditional marches. The bride, given in marriage by her father, wore a brush train gown of white embroidered organza. The molded bodice was designed with a basque waistline, long tapered sleeves ending in points over the hands, and a scalloped sabrlna neckline edged with embroidery. The bouffant skirt was also edged -with embroidered scallops,

She carried a white Bible topped with carnations from which fell satin streamers knotted with small flowers. Mrs. Wallace Somerville of Culpeper was maid of honor for her sister. Her floor length gown was of aqua organza with a lace jacket, and her matching headpiece was a veiled band
