Two weeks ago I wrote a paragraph for this column that, it appeared almost certain that widows whose veterah husbands died from service-connected causes would soon receive about a 10% increase in dependency and indemnity compensation. , Under the terms of two bills signed into law by the Presir dent that increase has been realized and became effective October 1, 1963. The minimum increase is $8 monthly, and average increase is about $15. The VA Says that to avoid any holdup in payments to widows the regular October checks will be mailed at the usual time, to be followed by separate cheeks soon afterward for just the October
