Watkins, Jr., affectionately known as “Gertie”, who drives down from Boyce, Virginia, to share her experience in this learning fellowship. “Gertie” is the pioneer in a field which offers both challenge and promise of reward. She had undertaken to become the "Mobile” Director of Christian Education for this Geographical area is the NW corner of the State, known as the Valley Convocation, comprised of ten counties, including our own Rappahannock.
Christian Education was not approached from the direction of subject matter initially, but rather looked at most realistically as “encounter” — involving interpersonal relations, for this is where God encounters man. This is-the bedrock of our life.
