UNICEF Trick or Treat Proves Succesful
Last Thursday's successful Trick or Treat for UNICEF program had a new echo today when the Methodist Youth Fellowship of the Rappahannock Charge, organizer s of the program, expressed "only one regret" in connection with the event, "Our only regret is that we cannot thank all Involved in as many languages as are spoken ’top-the young beneficiaries of UNICEF’s aid," Dorothy Williams said. "To say simply, 'thank you' seems somehow Just not enough." While the final results are not yet available, at least $58.00 is known to have been collected in Flint Hill, Huntly, Washington and Sperryville by approximately twelve Trick or Treaters. The treats of coins collected on Halloween will help the United Nations Children’s Fund to continue its aid to over 500 projects for needy children and mothers in 116 countries, Dorothy Williams added. Each penny received will have long-range effects in terms of help and hope. In all 50 states, an estimated 3.5 million boys and girls Trick or Treated for UNICEF in over 12,000 communities.
