H. D. W. Conner of Culpeper Bpoke to a congregation of seventyfive people at the morn.: ing worship service Sunday at Amissville Methodist Church in observance of Layman’s Day. His topic was “The Layman’s Responsibility to the ChUrch and to Christianity.” Capt. L. B. Stuart, U. S. N. Ret. and Thomas O’Halloran also participated in the program.

Miss Sandra Staap and a classmate at Randolph-Macon Women’s College, Lynchburg, Miss Mary Carol Witt of Huntington, W. Va. spent the weekend with Mr. and Mrs. Elliot Doyle. Mr. and Mrs. Tommy Fincham of Arlington were afternoon and supper guests Saturday of Mrs. Sarah Latham and daughter Susan. L H.Luttrell was an afternoon caller Sunday of the Lathams. Mr. and Mrs. Eddie J. Hitt, Mr. and Mrs. E. R. Hitt and children were in Manassas Park Sunday to visit Mr.and Mrs. Neil Weible. Mrs.Gilbert Dennis and Miss Landra Dennis were Friday callers of Mr. and Mrs.Russell Luttrell in Culpeper. Miss Carol Ann Rowzie of Front Royal was a weekend visitor of her parents Mr. and Mrs. Ralph Rowzie. Miss Anne Curtis of Richmond is spending this week with Mr. and Mrs. Johnny Hackley.
