Specific AEW objectives are to increase public understanding and appreciation of education; to explain today’s curriculum, current teaching methods, and modern instructional materials; and to increase public understanding of higher education. One way in which specific AEW objectives are achieved is by encouraging the public to visit their schools and colleges where accomplishments and problems of American education can . be explained. Millions of adults visit schools and colleges annually during American Education Week. A second way, to reach those who do not visit their schools, is by the dissemination of basic information about American education through the various media of mass communication. Millions are informed through newspapers, magazines, radio, television, sermons, motion pictures, plays, posters, and booklets.
Bull Feeding Test
Underway At Culp. 1y W. H. LYNE COUNTY AGENT The B. C. I. A. bull feeding test at Culpeper Enterprises got under way last month for the 6th consecutive year. This year there are 105 head consigned by forty-one breeders. According to Ike Eller, Secretary for the Virginia Beef Cattle Improvement Association, there are 65 Angus bulls from 21 herds, 17 Hereford breeders have 34 bulls, and 3 Shorthorn breeders consigned six bulls. Three Rappahannock breeders are participating: Ned Johnson with 10 head of Angus, while Larry Manwaring and Piedmont Farm have one Hereford each. Eller states, "This is truly an outstanding group of bulls..hope you and breeders from your county will have the opportunity to visit the test station at Culpeper and see the bulls during the feeding period."
