Ireland* Hold Open House During Field Trials
Mr. and Mrs. C. J. Ireland
of Boston, Va. were hosts to the 4 lit annual field trials and bench show of the Virginia Foxhunters’s Association held recently at their farm HazelLand. Approximately 400participants and spectators gathered there Thursday and Friday and by Saturday the number increased to over 500 in spite of the chill and fog. They came from as far as Massachusetts, Maryland, Pennsylvania, West Virginia, Tennessee, and Florida. Mr. and Mrs. Ireland held open house and In the early morning served hot coffee to all.
Although the usual custom is for the association to choose a different location each year for the show and trials, the participants decided to return to Hazel-Land farm again next year for the event.
Entertain with Hayride
Miss Segar Jones, Miss Dorothy Taylor Davis, Miss Kay Johnston and Miss Dana Snead of Washington were cohostesses Saturday night fcith a hay ride for approximately forty young people. Returning to the home of Miss Snead they enjoyed dancing and refreshments. Mr. and Mrs. E, M. Jones assisted Judge and Mrs. Snead as chaperones.
