Schools Resume
Dental Program
Rappahannock County will resume its program for the dentally indigent after a lapse of two years. A clinic has been established at Washington Elementary School and preliminary examinations began Tuesday. A dental program was held for the county schools by Dr. Howard Berger until his health made it necessary for him to cease his operation. He donated most of his equipment to the clinic, with some being purchased by the school board. Dr. L. R. Savare and Dr. A. J. Ostrolenk of Alexandria have each agreed to do dental work here two days a week. Both dentists have recently been discharged from the ser. vice. Dr. Savare teaches two days at Georgetown University Dental School and Dr. Ostrolenk works part time in the Alexandria Health Department Dental Clinic. Dental indigency will be determined by the teachers and principals and the number of corrections per family will be a determining factor. After the children are examined, pas ents will be notified as to number of corrections and the amount they are expected to pay. This cannot be an absolutely free clinic, but it will be conducted on a cost only basis as was done previously. P. T. A. members and parents will assist the dentists with records. The clinic will be held from 9 a.m. until 3:30 p.m.
Game Commission Holds
Public Hearing March 13
The Commission of Game and Inland Fisheries will hold a public hearing Friday, March 13, to consider hunting Seasons and regulations for 1964-65. The session will begin at 9:30 a.m. in the Commission Conference Room at 7 North 2nd Street. Seasons and regulations for hunting small game and big game will be discussed at this time and proposals made for the 1964-65 fall and winter period. Commission staff biologists will report on the status of the various game species and make their recom mendations to the Commission ers. Seasons on doves, waterfowl and other migratory game birds will not be considered at this time since the Commission must wait for season frameworks and flyway regulations which are issued by the U. S. Fish and Wildlife Service. These are usually considered at meetings in July and August when this information is available. Sportsmen are invited to attend the March 13 hearing and make their views and recommendations known to the Commission. The hearing of delegations is usually one of the first items of business on the agenda, so persons desiring to speak should plan to arrive early. Those unable to
