Richard Edwin Jolliffe
Richard Edwin Jolliffe died Sunday, March 1 at the Marsh Nursing Home at Boston at the age of 12. A native of Rappahannock, he is survived by his wife, Mrs. Pearl Settle Jolliffe of Culpeper; four daughters, Mrs Raymond Jenkins of Mt. Rainier, Md., Mrs. Roy C. Burke, jr. of Brandy Station, Mrs. Virginia Edwards of Culpeper and Mrs. H. V. Smith of Orange: six sons, Benjamin F. Jolliffe of Washington, D. C. R. J. (Jack) Jolliffe of Culpeper, Silas L, Jolliffe of Amissville, Hugh W. Jolliffe of Rixeyville, Robert E. and Fred D. Jolliffe, both of Culpeper. Also by 19 grandchildren, three great-grand children. One sister survives, Mrs. B. H. Wayland of Culpeper and Miami, Fla. A funeral service Avas held Tuesday, March 3 at 11 a.m. at Gourdvine Baptist Church of which he was a member with interment in the church cemetery, conducted by the Rev. F. Edison Cleland. Bearers were Biedler Settle, Clinton Thornhill, Will Fletcher, Edwin Field, Ralph White, A. H. Spillman, Press Pulliam, Bentley Harrison and William Bywaters.
