Annual Report
Peoples Life Insurance Company of Washington, D. C., tias released the following figures in connection with the annual report of its operations for the year 1963.
Payments to policyholders and their beneficiaries during the year totaled $10,401,714, an increase of more than $372,881 over 1962. Since its organization, the company has paid out more than $132,000, 000 to policyholders and beneficiaries.
During 1963, purchases of new life insurance from Peoples amounted to $198? 108,264, the highest in the company’s history. Life insurance in force reached a total of $967,759,872 and reflected an $80,024,557 net increase for the year which was 17% greater than the same figure for 1962. This net increase was made up of $57, 222,537 Ordinary, $13,525,895 Weekly Premium and $9,276,125 Group. The company’s assets at year end totaled $169,759,972, of which $143,324,298 was policyholders’ legal reserve. This reserve, plus future preFreddie
