Mis* Mary M. Snead
Miss Mary Miller Snead of Washington, D. C. died Monday, March 2, 1964 in a nursing home at Palmyra, Va. She was 91 years old. She was a retired school teacher having taught many years in the Metropolitan area and in Rappahannock.
Miss Snead was a daughter of John Peyton Snead and Sally Ford, both of Fork Union. She was a member of Calvary Baptist Church, Washington, D. C. Surviving are two sisters, Miss Elizabeth P. Snead of Fork Union and Mrs. Walker Whitaker of Washington, D. C. Among five surviving nieces and nephews are Dr. John Peyton Snead III of Sperryville. Judge R. V. Snead, Wash, ington, Va. and Mrs. John Ruskin of Allendale, N. J, A funeral service was held at 3 p. m. Wednesday at Reynolds Memorials Baptist Church, Sperryville with the Rev. Clyde F. Melton officiating. Interment was in Sperryville Cemetery. Pallbearers were James W. Coates, Dr. John P. Snead IV, C, J. Miller, Samuel Snead, Ollie Fincham, William Moffett, D. D. Miller, and Joe D. Keyser. Clore Funeral Home, Culpeper, was in charge of arrangements.
