Two Minor Accidents
In Holiday Traffic
Though the county highways were literally lined with vehicles as vacationers had a last minute fling of the season there were only two traffic incidents in Rappahannock. Trooper Paul Dicks reported an accident Sunday evening about 8:30 p.m. six miles east of Sperryville on Route 522. According to Mr. Dicks, a '64 Ford sedan operated by James Elmer Jameson of Culpeper, going to Culpeper, struck several Angus cattle which were on the highway. Jameson was not injured. Two of the animals which were owned by Jimmy Falls were killed Instantly and two others severely injured. They were valued at $150 apiece. Three passengers in the auto sustained injuries and were taken to Culpeper Memorial Hospital for treatment. They were Rose Mary Wallace o: Washington, D. C.. Marv Jackson and Frances Gatewood, both of Castleton. All received contusions and abrasions. A hit and run accident was reported by Trooper W. A. Buntin but details were not available. However there were no injuries in this case.
