Helen Bruce and Mrs. E. W. Gore visited relatives in Portsmouth over the weekend.

Recent guests of Mrs. Catherine Brown were her sonsin-law and daughters Mr. and Mrs. Edward Payne, Mr. and Mrs. Charles Overhulser and two children Jane and Vickie and Miss Shirley Brown, all of Arlington. Miss Brown left recently for a two weeks vacation trip to California. Mr. and Mrs. John Eubank, Jr., Mrs. F. D. Coffey and son Frank spent Sunday with Mr. and Mrs. Maynard Nethers in Stephen City. Mr. and Mrs. D. V. Chapman had with them for the holiday week-end Dewitt and Leonard Johnson of Baltimore. Mr. and Mrs. Larry Wayland of Arlington were overnight guests on Sunday in the home of Mr. Wayland’s parents Mr. and Mrs. J. Earle Wayland. Mr. and Mrs. Curtis Kight and son of Silver Spring spent Sunday with Mrs. Kight’s mother Mrs. Betsy Harrell and also called on Miss Mamie Johnson. Mrs. Florence Johnson and Mrs. Jennie Armentrout spent Thursday with Mrs. J. Harvey Daily. Mrs. Daily was a Saturday overnight guest of Mrs. Hettie Cameron in Bentonville and had as luncheon guests on Monday Elder and Mrs. Douglas Hare and son Philip and Mrs. Annie Hare of Shanks, W. Va., Elder and Mrs. Elva Lowery and son Danny and Darrells of Baltimore.

John Johnson of Hagerstown, Md. is spending this week at his cottage in Sycamore Hollow.

Mr. and Mrs. Daniel Keyser and children of Winchester were guests on Saturday of Mrs. Keyser’s parents Mr. and Mrs. D. M. Dwyer. Their supper guest on Sunday was Lester Payne of Front Royal. Other recent guests in the Dwyer home were their son-in law and daughter Mr. and Mrs. J. R. Shade and family of Charlottesville.

Mr. and Mrs. J. Rodes Brown Jr. and three children of Stautv ton spent the holiday weekend with Mr. Brown’s parents at Rock Villa. r —.
