Mr. and Mrs. R. E. Many and daughters Mildred and Sue were in Washington, D. C. Sunday to attend the marriage of Mrs. Many’s nephew, Thomas Walter Jones, to Lois Carole Emerick. Mr. Jones is the son of Mr. and Mrs. Walter O. Jones, formerly of Sperryville. Mrs. Bobby Frazier and son Gerald returned home Sunday from visiting Mrs. Frazier’s aunt and uncle Mr. and Mrs. W. O. Jones in Silver Spring. Mrs. Frazier and Gerald were attendants in the Jones, Emerick wedding. Miss Mildred Many returned to Washington, D. C. Sunday after spending two weeks with her parents at Ivy Hill. Mr. and Mrs. Maury W. Brown entertained members of their family over the holiday week-end. Present on Sunday for a family picnic at their home were M/Sgt. and Mrs. M. W. Brown, Jr. and two children Susan and Michael from Langley A. F. B., Hampton; Mr. and Mrs. Allen H. Brown and children of Washington, D. C., Al/c and Mrs. Gerald M. Brown and children David, Dawn and Dean Brown of Hampton, Mr. and Mrs. Charles R. Brown and family, Jill, Jennifer, Kelly and Matt of Pittsburgh, Pa., Mr. and Mrs. Jack Konek and children Robin and Joe and Bernard Jones of Hampton. Mrs. J. B. Perkins was a caller during the day to meet the family. Mrs. Perle Coffey had as her guests for the week-end Walter Rector and Mrs. Lottie Robinson of Richmond. On Saturday Mrs. Coffey and her guests visited Mr. and Mrs. Raymond Rector at Marshall and Mr. and Mrs. Lyle Rector at Flint Hill. Mrs. Gladys Anderson and her son David Anderson, Jr. were week-end guests of her sister Mrs. Lawrence Oden and Mr. Oden at Sharpsburg, Md. Mr. and Mrs. A. R. Partlow 1 of Culpeper accompanied by Mrs. Earle Wayland, Mrs.
Point, W. Va. J. G. Russell visited friends in Roanoke and Lexington several days this week.
Mr. and Mrs. Carl Howell lof Madison Heights were the week-end guests of Mr. and Mrs. Paul Miller.
The Official Board of the Flint Hill Methodist Church will meet Friday, September 11 at the home of Mr. and Mrs. Paul Miller at 7;30 p.m.
Trooper and Mrs. Paul Dicks entertained with a birthday dinner in honor of Mrs. Dicks’ parents, Mr. and Mrs. Guy Surratt of Manassas. Other guests were Mr. and Mrs. Merlian Marshall and daughter Joan of Winchester.
