Army PFC Richard S. Lewis son of Charlie C. Lewis, Rt. 600, Box 76, Sperryville, and other members of the 1st Infantry Division are participat ing in joint Army-Air Force Exercise Indian River III, held at Eglin Air Force Base, Fla. ending Sept. 16. Indian River III concludes a series of three exercises that are being conducted by the U. S. Air Force Tactical Air Wap fare Center at Eglin Air Force Base in preparation for later joint testing and evaluation of Air Force proposals for using aviation to enhance combat e? fectiveness of Army units. Lewis, assigned to Company C, 1st Bdttalion in the division's 18th Infantry regularly stationed at Fort Riley, Kan., entered the Army in November 1963.
