Many times the estimate shown is not high enough. If you think your actual earnings will be more than you anticipated, you should get in touch with your local social security office. Someone there will be glad to help you complete the form to revise your estimate; You may find that you have already received more benefits than you will be entitled to get for the year and are overpaid. The adjustment of this overpayment need’nt be made until after the end of the year when you make your annual report.

Again the President has ordered speeded up payments of a $224.5 million G. I. insurance dividend for the year 1965. In previous years up to 1963 the dividend payments were made on the anniversary dates of the policies. These dividends are return to the policyholders of part of their premium payments be cause the death rate among holders of G. I. insurance continues to be lower than the rate upon which the premiums were originally established. Of the 1965 dividends about $210 million will go to some 4.5 million holders of the WWII National Service Life Insurance, and the remainder will go to WWI veterans with U. S. Government Life Insurance.
Payments of these dividends are automatic and no correspondence is required. In fact, inquiries about the dividends could result in delay of their payment. Payment will begin January 1, 1965, and is expected to be completed by the middle of that month.
Edward M. Mathews, of the Front Royal Office of the Division of War Veterans’ Claims is in Washington at the Clerk’s Office on 1st and 3rd Monday from 2 to 4 p.m. and will gladly give assistance in any matter connected with veteran’s affairs.
