Praises Congress
“The House of Representatives has passed the Food and Agriculture Act of 1965 and its members are to be congratulated. They have acted to strengthen the national economy, thus assuring the stability that has'prevailed in the agricultural economy will continue.
“With this act in operation, the consumers will continue to eat better and at a lower real cost each year during its operation. This legislation will extend the successful pro^ grams for wheat and feed grains which have eliminated nearly unmanageable surpluses we once had while at the same time raising income of the individual family farmers.
“This legislation also will provide a new and promising cotton program to rescue the cotton economy. It will maintain the income of cotton farmers, improve the competitive position of cotton and reduce the current heavy surplus to reserve needs. With these pro. grams in effect for 4 years, farmers will be able to better plan their farming operations. “I am especially pleased that the House has acted favorably on the cropland adjustment
