The President believes his estimate could prove to be much too high if a national effort were made now to con vince our young people of the importance of completing their educations. Such an effort would focus on the clear fact that the availability of unskilled jobs is declining rapidly and that a high school education has become almost a prerequisite for any kind of work. The president has appealed to individuals and organizations in every segment of American life to undertake this effort through a national campaign to encourage young Americans to return toschool j In a highly advanced economic and job structure such as ours, there soon will be little room for the worker without a high school education. That fact must be driven home to the Nation’s young people.
