During a question and answer period Mr. Macomber pointed out to the Historical Society for research purposes that moldings and trims were the best clue as to the age of a building. He further stated that people were inclined to place the age.of a building much earlier than it really was and that in his opinion a building that was well built in it’s period was more interesting than one that had additions of an earlier architectural period to make it appear older.
