James R. Foster of Flint Hill was a member of a class of 15 men who graduated from Nashville Auction School,. Nashville, Tenn. on February 18. Foster was graduated with the traditionalauctloneer's title of Colonel. These men represented five states ranging in ages from 19 to 62. The school was taught by some of the leading auctioneers in the south and instruction included the fields of cattle sales, farm machinery, real estate, tobacco and consignment sales. He also received instruction in other aspects of this growing business.
The “chant* is the first step in training an auctioneer and overcoming stage fright a very necessary step. Public speaking, personal appearance, salesmanship, advertising, public relations, financing and law were among other things studied.
