April Beauty Pageant
A beauty pageant, under the sponsorship of the Rappahannock Jaycees, is scheduled to be held April 1 in the Rappahannock County High'School auditorium beginning at 8 p.m. : The contestants will be judged in four different groups as follows: ages 5 to 9; ages 10 to 12; ages 13 to 17 and ages 18 to 28. The winners of the 5 to 9 and 18 to 28 group will go to Richmond in May to compete in the state beauty pageant. In the local contest an entry fee of $1 per contestant will be charged and individuals may enter themselves or be 'sponsored by a business ori other individual. Entries wilf be judged on beauty and poise only. The 5 to 9 and 10 to 12 age groups will wear street length dresses; the 13 to 17 age group will wear evening gowns; and the adult group will be judged in evening gowns and in swim suits. Either will be pleased to furnish information about the contest or take your entry. Admission to the public will be $1 for adults and 50C for children. Reserved seats in the first four rows will be available at $2 each.
