The annual Road Hearing was set for the regular April meeting of the Board which is scheduled for April 7. At this time the public may attend the register requests, complaints, etc. or seek information concerning roads. The School Board requested permission to advertise a $200 reward for information leading to the arrest and conviction of person or persons breaking and entering and van dalizing the local high schoo^. The purchase of furniture needed for the Circuit Court Judge’s office was approved in the amount of $200. Progress on public county dumps was reported, and legal action for leasing same in the Amissville and Sperryville areas is in progress. A third dump in the Flint Hill section is under advisement. Payment of current bills was approved before adjournment.

It has come to the attention of the local social security office that persons have made calls at the homes of social security beneficiaries representing themselves to be jmployees of social security. Often these persons promise extra social security benefits if the social security recipient will give some money to the caller. The result is that an older person in “bill* ed” of a sum of money. In] every case the person so cheat ed can ill afford to lose the money. According to Mrs. Hazel F. Daly, District Manager of the Winchester Social Security Of fice, representatives of the social security office always carry identification cards with them and these cards bear a picture of the repre sentatives. These cards are normally presented voluntarily, but if the caller does not tender the card he will do so gladly upon request. Social security personnel never ask for money for their
