In Golf Tourney
A 36-hole tournament was held at South Wales course recently with eight participants from Rappahannock. The bankers handicap system was used and the winner of the event was Jame6 W. Coates of Sperryville. His score was 144. In second place was Col. John H. Williams of Amissville with 145and Julian Brown of Culpeper placed third'with 148. The group expressed appreciation for the courtesies extended them by golf pro Joe Reposky of South Wales during a ceremony presenting prizes to the winners. At this time a committee was named to head an Invitational golf tournament to be held at South Wales in August of next year. On the committee were Col. John H. Williams, Col. Roy L. Reeve, and Joe Reposky. Anyone interested in competing in this tournament Is asked to contact a committee member.
