Springfield where Mrs. Moffett’s parents the Rev. andMrs. C. E. Buxton celebrated their 50th wedding anniversary. Open House was held between 3 and 6 p.m. when approximately 200 friepds and neighbors called to bring good wishes.
Mrs. Frank Glass and Mrs. Alice Given of Windermere, Fla. have been visitingfriends in the county. On Saturday evening Mr. and Mrs. A. H. Keyser entertained in their honor with a Bridge party, at The Oaks. Other guests were Mr. and Mrs. H. B. Winfrey of Woodville, Mrs. R. E. Wood and Mrs. Mary Botts Quaintance of Sperryville, Mr. and Mrs. John S. Browning of Flint Hill, Mrs. Henry Keyser, Mrs. George H. Davis, jr. and Jos. D. Keyser. Mrs. Wood and Mrs. Quaintance were high Bridge scorers. Mrs. David Streagle had as her guests for lunch on Friday Mrs. C. C. Cockerill, Mrs. W. H. Kephart, Mrs. James Powell, ail of Herndon, Mrs, C. P. Keyes of Sterling, Mrs. W. L. Payne and Mrs. Sarah Latham of Amissville. Shannon Streagle accompanied her aunt, Mrs. KepharttoHerndon to spend the weekend and returned to her home Monday.
Miss Marion Gundlach left Monday for Richmond called there by the death of her mother Mrs. J. Raymond Gundlach. Miss Diane Brown attended the funeral service Wednesday in Richmond. Col. and Mrs. E. A. McNear of Vint Hill Station, their son Capt. Richard McNear of Ft. Belvoir and Col. McNear’s parents Mr. and Mrs. Arthur 3. McNear spent the week-end at the McNear's home Greenwood. Capt. McNear has recently returned from duty in Vietnam and is stationed at Ft. Belvoir.
