Historical Society
To Meet May 24
The Rappahannock County Historical Society will hold its annual meeting May 24, at 8 p.m. in the Rappahannock Library, Washington. The Society will bring Mr. Henry J. Kauffman of Lancaster, Pa., professor, lecturer and author of several books on antiquities to speak on "What are Antiques and How to Identify Them." He will advise on objects submitted for identification. Members and guests are invited to bring exhibit material. A Program Plan for the summer will be proposed. New members are invited to attend.
Village Beauty Shop Opens in Amissville
Mrs. Betty Jane Baldwin and Mrs. Ruby Cannon are joint proprietors of the Village Beauty Salon in Amissville which will have its Grand Opening Sunday, May 19 from 1 to 5 p.m. The salon is located on Route 211 in the Cannon building formerly occupied by Mt. View Restaurant. Both Mrs. Baldwin and Mrs. Cannon have had shops in their homes and both have recently mended refresher cosmotology classes at Vincent and Vincent in Washington. Business hours for the new Salon will be Tuesday through Saturday from 9 a.m. - 5p.m.
