Injuries Slight in
Two Traffic Crashes
A North Carolina couple sustained slight injuries Sunday evening when their vehicle crashed into the rear of another car on Route 211. The collision occurred about 9 p.m. three miles west of Washington.
Mr. and Mrs. Albert Czomba of Roxboro, N. C. received lacerations of the mouth when their 63 Ford Falcon operated by Mr. Czomba crashed into the rear of a 67 Buick operated by Randolph Kenneth Hambricic of Hyattsville, Md. Hambrick had stopped to allow a motorist in front of him to make a turn into Pine Knott Inn, according to Trooper J. B. Willis. Mr. and Mrs. Czomba were treated at Culpeper Memorial Hospital and released. He was charged with reckless driving. A single vehicle crash occurred about 3:30 a.m. Monday morning on Route 211 just east of Ben Venue. According to Trooper R. M. Dodson, Kenneth Allan Burner of Seabrook, Md. escaped injury when his car, a 59 Olds convertible, went out of control and crashed down an embankment. The officer said the car went off the right of the high way, veered back across it and plunged down the bank striking uprooted tree stumps before coming to rest upright. The highway is under construction in the area and the stumps were in a small ravine off the highway. Burner was charged with reckless driving.
