mere's rock in them lhar hillt — Portions of Ihe new dual laning on Route 211 will have an extremely solid foundation. Construction crews drill and blast away in some sections where the hillsides are solid rock and dump it into the lower sections which need building up. The top photo shows the drills making holes foi1 charges of dynamite. The holes looked to be about five feet apart and about 120 holes are shot at once. Below is a sample of some ot1 the shattered rock being hauled away. These chunks are small compared to some at the site which have to be broken into smaller pieces for handling with dozers
