Three Minor Wrecks
Occur Daring Week
Three minor traffic incidents occurred in Rappahanock since last reporting.
David Norman of Woodville operating a 1966 Chevrolet pick up struck and killed a deer Monday morning two miles east of Amissville on Route 211. He was not injured and damage to the vehicle was estimated at $250.
Early Saturday June 15, Roberta Louise Freed of Lebanon, Pa. skidded and struck a rock wall in the east end of the Town of Washington. She said she swerved to avoid an animal in the road. Damage to the car was estimated at $500, but there were no injuries. Trooper W. A. Buntin investigated the accidents.
Two vehicles were involved in a collision Tuesday afternoon on Route 211 in Amissville. Mrs. Stella Sarappa of Waterford, N.J. operating a 68 Chevrolet station wagon headed east sideswiped an oncoming vehicle. She crossed the center of the road and struck a 61 Ford Falcon operated by Thomas Nelson Long of Luray going west, according to Trooper R. E. Pugh.
There were no injuries in the crash and damage was slight. Mrs. Sarappa was charged with failing to drive to the right of the center of the highway.
